Houggard Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen remodel turned out great. We built new cabinet doors and drawers and re-finished the cabinet box faces. We also built a new island complete with side adjustable shelf cabinets and a new stair rail/banister. The doors used to be white washed oak, and the island was small and on an angle built with the same white-washed oak material. Needless to say with new doors, drawers, hardware, island, finish trim, walnut floors, and honed granite this kitchen is charming and timeless.

Wet Bar

This little run of custom cabinets were created for a family just down the street. They are full-overlay drawers and cabinet doors; the doors featured a bead board panel. Painted black with a distressed, antique finish and accented with a custom-selected laminate counter top, these cabinets should be a great accent for years to come. I have always felt that it is a great strategy to create cabinets that look like furniture. I like to imagine that if the cabinets were pulled off of the wall and put in the middle of the room, they would still look great.

Wainscot

I decided to do some wainscot (BTW what IS the correct pronunciation of that word?) in our living room and dining room. Thicker slats in the living and thinner slats in the kitchen/dining area. It really brightened up the spaces and made our main living floor feel larger. It was also surprisingly affordable and only took a few days to complete.

The Clarice

Here is a piece called the "Clarice" after Angie's Great-Grandma. She lost her husband when she was a young mother with 3 small children and supported herself by painting china and making quilts. The color was Angie's choice, I think she is happy with it. It is a great display piece, and named after a great person. It is available in both paint and stain grade, just pick your material and color and let us take care of the rest.
